This course will give delegates a CPCS Red Trained Operator card (on successful completion of CPCS technical tests).

    Trained Operator Card (RED)

The Trained Operator Card confirms a level of core skills, knowledge, and understanding that can be applied in the workplace until measured as competent against national standards. Experienced and capable operators may hold a Trained Operator Card while working towards an SVQ or NVQ.

If you hold or have held a previous CPCS card and wish to progress, please let us know before booking.

Once you’ve obtained your Red CPCS Trained Operator Card, it is valid for 2 years. During this time, you are expected to complete an NVQ in Plant Operations to progress to a Blue CPCS Competence Card.

If you have not completed your NVQ within the 2-year period, the accreditation body, NOCN-CPCS, may allow a grace period provided you are registered and booked onto an NVQ course. For further guidance on eligibility and next steps, please contact our team.

    Competent Operator Card (BLUE)

The Competent Operator Card confirms that the holder has demonstrated health and safety awareness (via the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment test), underpinning knowledge (via a CPCS theory test), operating ability (via a CPCS practical test), and operating competence on the type of plant (evidenced by an SVQ, NVQ, or employer confirmation of competence).
